Following death the first things that are normally decided are whether the person is to be buried or cremated, as different paperwork for each has to be completed, and your choice of funeral director.

All aspects of the funeral arrangements will be carefully explained to you at each stage of the process. All our funeral directors have a minimum of ten years experience in this industry and have helped families arrange many different types of funeral.

The death will have to be registered at the registrars office in the area where death occurred (there are some situations where this may differ) and this will need to done by either:

A close member of the family
A person present at time of death
A person who is arranging the funeral
The person who is in charge of the hospital, nursing home or institution where the death occurred.

The registrar will need either a Medical cause of death certificate issued by the doctor who the deceased was in the care of, or if the death has been dealt with by the Coroner then they will issue directly to the registrar the paperwork which will allow you to register.

The questions that the registrar will ask will be given to you by us on a form which you can complete if necessary to take with you so that all information is available for the death to be registered.

We will also provide you with a wallet containing many different types of information, such as a map to local registrars, cemeteries etc; cards that can be used to inform friends and neighbours of the death; and most importantly our information booklet which will give you advise and help as to the different options that are available to you and what is needed to be done before and after the funeral. Every aspect of the funeral will be discussed and planned with you from cars to coffins, catering to flowers, newspaper notices to memorials.

Please always contact us if there are any aspects you would like to know more about.
