The support that we received was excellent throughout.

As a way of giving back to our local area, the Nicholas O’Hara Community Fund aims to provide funding support for community-based projects which improve the quality of life of people living within three miles of Nicholas O'Hara Funeral Directors’s branches in Wimbourne, Verwood, West Moors, Westbourne, Poole, Ferndown and Bournemouth.
Local charities will be awarded funding toward the cost of a specific, community-focused project. We aim to fund projects that run for 3 months or longer, but we may consider shorter projects if ongoing community benefits can be demonstrated.
In order to be eligible to receive funding, the project must align with one or more of the fund categories: Health, Education, Employment Opportunities, Poverty/Social Deprivation. Grants are available for amounts up to £2,500.
We will run two application cycles over the course of the year:
| Applications open | Applications close | Winners informed by | |
| Cycle one | 09/02/2026 | 22/03/2026 | 03/05/2026 |
| Cycle two | 22/06/2026 | 02/08/2026 | 13/09/2026 |
If you work with a charity in need of funding for community projects in Bournemouth, Poole, Bear Cross, West Parley, Canford or surrounding areas, we encourage you to apply. We particularly welcome applications from small, local not-for-profit organisations embedded in their communities.

Applications should be submitted to ohara.communityfund@funeralpartners.co.uk
Please read the guidance notes for most information about charity eligibility and how the grants will be awarded.
